Abdominal Fat

Is the accumulation of adipose tissue in the belly area, divided into two types: subcutaneous (just below the skin, "pinchable") and visceral (deep, around the organs, more dangerous because it produces inflammatory substances). Excess is linked to serious health risks, such as heart disease, diabetes, and hypertension, making it crucial to differentiate between them and adopt a balanced diet and exercise to control it.

Types of Abdominal Fat

Subcutaneous Fat: Located just below the skin. It’s the “soft” fat you feel when you pinch your stomach and helps with protection and temperature regulation, but excess fat contributes to abdominal volume.

Visceral Fat: Accumulates in the abdominal cavity, surrounding organs such as the liver and intestines. It is more metabolically active, releases toxins, causes inflammation, and significantly increases the risk of metabolic and cardiovascular diseases.
